Nova Scotia Auditor General, Michael A. Pickup, released his December 10, 2019 reports to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. The reports include two audit chapters - one looking at Reducing Regulatory Burden to Nova Scotia businesses and a second covering the QEII New Generation Project – Halifax Infirmary and Community Outpatient Centre. A separate Mid-mandate Report was also released that provides insights into the work of the Office over the first half the Auditor General’s 10-year term. Nova Scotia Auditor General, Michael A. Pickup released his October 29, 2019 Financial Report to the House of Assembly. The report provides information on the audit of the March 31, 2019 Consolidated Financial Statements of the Province of Nova Scotia, as well as the results from audits of government organizations. The report also provides highlights on the Province’s financial condition and information about cybersecurity and the use of purchasing cards within Government, as well as updates on the status of prior year observations – fraud risk management, public sector pensions, internal meetings and employee social events expenses. Nova Scotia Auditor General, Michael Pickup, released his April 2019 joint follow-up report to the House of Assembly. The report was completed in conjunction with his counterparts in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. The report deals with the status of implementing 25 recommendations made to Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s management, Board, and shareholder governments. |

Nova Scotia Auditor General, Michael Pickup, released his May 28, 2019 report to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. The report includes three audit chapters, one covering diversity and inclusion efforts by the Public Service Commission along with the Departments of Agriculture, Community Services and Justice; a second chapter looking at the processes to manage the selection and quality of bridge projects at the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal; and the third is the second phase of our work at Workers’ Compensation Board, assessing their management of workplace injury claims.
