The Auditor General’s role is to audit the finances and activities of the Government of Nova Scotia. We are the auditors of every government department, regulated fund, public service and governmental unit, as well as four government business enterprises, five partnership arrangements, the Nova Scotia Health Authority and IWK Health Centre. We audit so that we can report on how well the government is managing its responsibilities and the province’s resources. We provide independent assurance to the people of Nova Scotia that public money is spent properly and provides value.
